Southwold Beach

Its promenade and fantastic pier make Southwold beach a great place for all the family.

The beach itself is made up of sand and shingle and is backed by the promenade and overlooked by brightly painted beach huts.

This pretty award winning pier has boutiques, cafés and interesting things for all the family. There is also an Under the Pier Show which houses hand built machines by Tim Hunkin including the infamous 'Wack a Banker'.

There are plenty of places to eat and drink both along the seafront and at the pier.

Dogs on the Beach

The main beach at Southwold has dog restrictions in place from the 1st of May through to the 30th of September. But just adjacent to the harbour lies the award winning Southwold Denes beach which allows dogs all year round. The Denes is a clean quiet beach backed by sand dunes and popular with walkers.
